In a video reportedly taken by Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, also known as El Mencho, leader of the CJNG (Cartel Jalisco New Generation) accused governor of Jalisco, Enrique Alfaro Ramírez, of breaking an alleged deal between the two to control the plaza.
In the video shared in social media, there are 27 uniformed, masked and armed men. In the centre of the video, a masked man reads a message for nearly five minutes.
In his message, Mencho accuses the governor of Jalisco of giving control of the plaza to Martín Coronel, nephew of Ignacio Coronel, right hand man of El Chapo.
*Controlling a plaza means controlling the most populated cities and important sources of income for cartels.
He also demarcates the safe houses that have been found in recent months in several municipalities in the metropolitan area of Jalisco, where clandestine graves were found with corpses and kidnapped people.
“The governor Enrique Alfaro is the only one that can tell you whose safe houses and those dead are.” says El Mencho.
“The reality is that the safe houses are property of Martín Coronel, also known as El Águila, and of Esteban Rodríguez, also known as El Güerito. Both are directly protected by the governor, being Alfaro himself the only one interested in wanting to take away the state from us and give them to those people”, stated the drug lord.
“Alfaro made a deal with me, Mencho Oseguera, which he didn’t comply with. All of you know that before Enrique Alfaro’s government came, here in Jalisco it was calm, and now under his administration violence has skyrocketed throughout the whole state”, he says.
The man in the video also indicates that the flood that a village in San Gabriel suffered the past 2nd of June was caused by the illegal logging of trees that Alfaro and his family carry out to plant avocado in Apango, and they blamed drug cartels to “clean their hands”.
The newspaper NTR published the past 12th of June that the father of the governor, Enrique Alfaro Anguiano, recieved help for 30 hectares of avocado orchards, while the family Alfaro-Aranguren-Herrejón owns one of the largest avocado orchards.
In the final part of the video, Mencho assures that the “current woman” of Enrique Alfaro, Lorena Martínez, was a lover of an important member of the cartel, and that’s why “the governor hates and has personal problems against our organization, and because of that he prefered to help them (El Águila and El Güerito)”.
